Hawaiian Blues – 2004

When I saw the blue challenge fabric, I knew exactly which quilt I wanted to make. I had bought the New Zealand Quilter magazine because I fell in love with the cover quilt, Donna Ward’s “Dreaming of Hawaii.” It took me awhile to get a hold of her, but I got Donna’s permission to put my half-sized version in local quilt shows.

Cabin in the Woods – 2007

Cabin in the Woods is the result of a (S)crap Bag Challenge in our PlanB group. I misunderstood the instructions. I thought that we had to use 75% of each piece in the bag , when it was 75% of all that was in the bag. I strained and struggled and probably cursed at bit, and then started to have fun as I found a way to use the scraps.
